openEHR implementation key terms

  • openEHR – an approach to integrated health care informatics; the result of international collaboration between clinical informatics experts from 1996-2006; governed since 2000 by the openEHR Foundation (see openEHR.org)
  • EHR – electronic health record
  • Archetype – a formal, reusable model of a domain concept (in openEHR, the clinical domain), the use of which is a cornerstone of the openEHR approach
  • composition – in openEHR, the smallest attestable unit of an EHR
  • contribution – in openEHR, a committable change set for a an EHR modification/addition/removal
